Baker/Brooker. Immigration barracks, Quarantine Island, Otago Harbour, NZ.
The original building had three wings. The married quarters (all that's left) is the wing on the right; the single-storied wing in the centre was the dining room, and the left-hand wing was for single women. Single men were housed -- eventually -- on Goat Island.

The Baker family arrived on the Gareloch in February 1874. As there was scarlet fever on board, all the passengers were confined for 10 days to the barracks on Quarantine Island. Only the married quarters building (where the Baker family would have stayed) is still in existence.
